Piles - What are the important causes of piles?

The main important cause of Piles is chronic constipation and other bowel disorders. The straining in bowels, and the pressure at the time of removing waste from anal thus caused on the surrounding veins leads to Piles. Piles are more common during pregnancy and in this conditions affect the liver and upper bowel.

What is the Different type of piles?

Piles are differentiated according to their position.

  • First-form of Piles remain inside the rectum or anal canal.
  • Second- form of Piles protruded (or prolapsed) from the anus when the bowels are opened, but return of their own accord afterwards.
  • Third- form of Piles is similar, but only return inside when pushed back.
  • Fourth- form of Piles hangs permanently outside the anus.

Piles - What are the symptoms for piles?

Many of the people affected have internal Piles and may not have any symptoms at all. The earliest symptom is often bleeding of fresh (meat), red blood from the anal passage when the bowels are opened. There are itching around the anal area. Third and fourth form of Piles may be more painful and tend to produce a slimy discharge of mucus that leaks from the exposed lining of the Piles.

There are conditions other than Piles that can cause bleeding from the anal, so anyone who notices bleeding in their stool should visit a doctor for advice.
